Spotlight on Support: Moms on the Clock/Campus

As part of The Mommies Network, LakeNormanMommies is a free community for moms in the Lake Norman Area, North Carolina. We realize that all moms need local support -- and who can't use another friend? LakeNormanMommies offers a simple way to connect with local moms for friendship, support and fun. In addition to general discussion forums, LakeNormanMommies offers a variety of specialized support forums for moms to discuss challenges and celebrate successes with other moms in similar situations. One such source of support is the Moms on the Clock/Campus (MOTC) forum.

The MOTC forum provides a venue for sharing, learning and supporting the experiences and challenges of our moms who are working and/or going to school. While some of the needs and experiences of working and campus moms are shared, such as time management, childcare options or learning how to balance the demands of work/school with parenting and relationships, some life issues are unique to each group. Our working moms can count on the MOTC forum for discussions on summer camp recommendations, easy dinner plans, how to handle workplace conflicts, interviewing techniques and resume writing tips, to the ever difficult subject of missing children’s special activities at school due to work schedules. Likewise, our campus moms can get advice from other student moms on study habits, college recommendations, academic writing tips, or financial aid. The MOTC forum is rich with experience and talent, which serves as a wonderful resource for moms entering the workforce and those working hard toward that college degree with plans of launching a new career in the future.

This forum is open to members who have a full- or part-time job, own a business (including making and selling clothes, crafts, etc.), go to school full- or part-time, or plan on returning to work or school soon. If you fit the criteria for membership, click here to request access to this private group. The forum is moderated by a member of The Leadership Team.
