Our little dude received a special present recently. No, I'm not referring to the Star Wars underwear (though, come to think of it, those undies are pretty darned cool), I'm referring to an extra special gift that will continue to delight him for years to come. MrP is now the proud owner of a journal!

Every few days he takes a moment to sit down and draw a picture of something that he has done, seen, heard, or felt. Sometimes he draws himself, other times it's an object that he likes. When he is done with his drawing he tells us about it and we write it down on the page.

After we record the words we take a moment to talk about why he chose to draw this particular moment or object and how it makes him feel. Occasionally we flip back through the entries to remind us of fun things we've done or how we felt about certain events and what that might teach us about how to handle situations and feelings.
