Fall Into Fitness

Fall into Fitness is an opportunity for the members of LakeNormanMommies to support one another in reaching their health and fitness goals. LakeNormanMommies provides a private forum where participants may discuss personal challenges and celebrate achievements. Thanks to our program sponsors, participants will have access to expert knowledge in the fields of health and fitness as well as an opportunity to win fantastic prizes. The ultimate goal is to get on track to becoming the healthiest mommies we can be, both for ourselves and our families.

Registration for Fall Into Fitness is closed, however, we welcome you to follow along with us and our program participants on this nine-week journey.

Week Nine Update and Wrap-Up

Our Fall Into Fitness participants have just completed an amazing nine-week journey to a healthier lifestyle. There were as many goals as participants in this program, ranging from weight loss to firming up to simply getting back on track with a healthy diet. The one thing that everyone had in common was the desire to make a change for themselves and for their families.

Success is measured in many ways. When asked about what they accomplished through this shared journey, answers varied. Clothing sizes, inches, and pounds were lost. Eating and workout routines changed. Some who could barely walk a block in the beginning were running 5Ks by the end. Others took this opportunity to make changes not just for themselves, but for their partners and children as well. The most telling answer, and the one we enjoyed hearing the most, was echoed again and again..."I just feel better." To us, that is the ultimate success.

We began this journey with sixty-eight participants, twenty-eight of whom completed the check-out process. As a group, these final twenty-eight members lost 6.1% of their combined weight, a total weight loss of 296 pounds. The average weight loss per person was 10 pounds. The average fat percentage loss was 2.5 percentage points. Official final numbers for the original group of sixty-eight are not available, but unofficial calculations (based on at-home weight checks) place the combined weight loss for the group at 542 pounds, an average of 8 pounds per participant.

We are so very proud of each and every one of our Fall Into Fitness participants. Not only have they made changes for themselves, they have supported each other through this process. They shared successes and setbacks, they celebrated and they encouraged. These strong women bonded together to create a forum atmosphere that was safe, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of each and every member. As far as we are concerned, all of our Fall Into Fitness participants are winners and deserve a round of applause. They have done amazing things for themselves, their families, and each other.

Prizes

Fall Into Fitness participants who pay-to-play* ($10 paid at the start of the program) are eligible to win prizes at both the start and end of the program. There are twelve prizes, totaling over $5000, to be awarded at both the start and the end of the program. Prizes are determined by random draw, participation, and achievement. Additionally, all participants are eligible to take advantage of a special discount on Valeria's Signature Medical Weight Loss program.
*Anyone can participate in the program, but only those who pay-to-play are eligible for prizes.

Start of Program Prizes

Congratulations to our start of program prize winners: Amy, Teresa, Denise, Sharon, Emily, and Tabitha!  


We awarded SIX start of program prizes to give away by means of a random draw at the start of the program. Each of the six prizes is an eight-week, one-on-one, personalized program with one of our Fall Into Fitness sponsors.
Start of program prize winners ARE eligible for end of program prizes.


End of Program Prizes

To be eligible for an end of program prize, participants MUST complete all program check-in requirements (details below).
Winners will be announced November 20.

"Losers"

There are THREE "Loser" (participants who lose the most weight and/or fat during the course of the program) prizes up for grabs. "Losers" are determined by the percentages of weight and fat lost by each individual participant.
  • 1st Place (most weight AND fat lost)
    $1000 gift certificate to Valeria Salon/Spa/Boutique
    Photo session (mom only...fashion or boudoir) with Christine Watley Photography
  • 2nd Place (most fat lost)
    $500 gift certificate to Valeria Salon/Spa/Boutique 
  • 3rd Place (most weight lost)
    $250 gift certificate to Valeria Salon/Spa/Boutique
"Loser" prize winners are not eligible for the final random draw or MVP prizes. 

Random Draw

Because success is not always measured in numbers but in the satisfaction of a job well done, we have TWO prizes to award (via random draw) at the end of the program, ANYONE who completes the program requirements is eligible to win. Each prize includes gift certificates for Dancing Leaf Spa & Salon, Kristin Claycomb - Jockey Person to Person, and Sugar & Spice Scrubs.
Random draw winners are not eligible for "Loser" or MVP prizes.

Most Valuable Player

Support is invaluable in this program. Participants will have a chance to decide via vote who they think was the most supportive pay-to-play participant (must complete the program requirements to be eligible) in the program. Whoever receives the most votes, wins the MVP Award.The MVP Award includes a Thai Yoga/Massage session with The Tree: A Therapeutic Yoga Studio and gift certificates for Monkee's of Lake Norman and Sugar & Spice Scrubs
The MVP winner is not eligible for "Loser" or random draw prizes. 

 

Requirements

Pay-to-Play

Only pay-to-play participants are eligible to win prizes.
  • Pay-to-play participants must contact the Fall Into Fitness Moderator, happymommy, by Saturday, September 15 at 8pm to make check-in arrangements.
  • $10 non-refundable program fee (cash or check made payable to "The Mommies Network") to be paid at time of check-in.
  • One in-person check-in (to record weight and body fat) at start of program. (see check-in details below)
  • Weekly weight checks (at home - honor system) to be submitted to the Fall Into Fitness Moderator, happymommy, by 8pm every Monday (September 24-November 12). Participants will be granted ONE missed weight check. Missing two weight checks results in ineligibility for end of program prizes.
  • One in-person check-out (to record weight and body fat) at end of program. (see check-out details below)

Non-Paying Participation

Members who choose NOT to pay-to-play may participate and receive support from the group.
  • Non-paying participants are NOT eligible for prizes. 
  • Non-paying participants must contact the Fall Into Fitness Moderator, happymommy, by Monday, September 17 at 8pm to join. 
  • Check-ins, weekly weight checks, and check-outs are encouraged, but not required for non-paying participants.
